Photography

The following projects are from my Basic Digital Photography class during my sophomore year in fall 2019.

As the course implies, I was taught the basic functions of a DSLR camera, as well as proper techniques for use of lighting, composition, and digital editing.

Person of Interest

This project gave me a great opportunity to showcase my roommate’s personality, and I loved editing these photos to create a cozy, “golden hour” aesthetic.

Spiritual Warfare

This was the final project for my photography class, and the objective was to visualize an otherwise intangible concept. As a Christian, the reality of spiritual warfare has always held my interest, and so I and a friend worked together to try to demonstrate the invisible battles that every Christian struggles with. I wanted to show the darkness that believers can find themselves in, but I also didn’t want the project to become hopeless or desperate. As believers, our struggle against evil is real and often terrifying, but we never have to fight alone. Towards the end of the project, I wanted to show the peace and strength that can come from surrendering everything back to God.
